They never were to me, I recolored them all blue before this. loll. Of course I kept all the originals, Vinyl Scratch is amazing no matter what color her eyes is, but I will say I'm glad they didn't just follow what the fandom created. (As far as we can tell at the moment). |

Her eyes rave from colour to colour. This is just a single frame where here eyes are magenta, and the others (red, green, blue) are single frames from else where in her eye-cycle. |

Why do you insist on saying this is canon, she hasn't even aired yet Celysus, the flash game wasn't even made by the show staff, we are still allowed to draw her with red eyes. Just because you dislike red eyes doesn't mean everyone who does has to comply to your tastes over some not-even-official wwbgame, that someone DECODED to see. |

It isn't that big of a deal but some people are treating this like fans don't have a reason to be annoyed or upset. The creators said Derpy is our character, they may have put her in the show and gave her the wonky eye that made her famous but all aspects of her character were brought out by the fans.
Vinyl is the same. She was on screen for seconds but she has 186 pages of pictures she is tagged in. People took time to flesh out a unique character out of her and one of her most unique features is her red eyes. You can't say that no one has noticed that she is a fan favorite, she is one of the few that Hasbro is turning into a toy, specifically because she is a fan favorite. tl;dr Vinyl is more of a fan creation than the Hub's so not basing her features off of fan stuff is kinda sad. |

There is a big difference between pandering to the fans and acknowledging them. Family Guy started pandering to the fans and the show went to shit. The originality went downhill, the jokes became stale because the fans wanted to hear the same stuff.
Studio B has done great things for the fans. They made very subtle nods using the popular and well accepted background ponies. That didn't ruin the show, it just made it better. Besides, this series is a collection of 22 minute toy commercials, regardless of the quality. The point of a toy is to use your imagination and have fun with it. This show has opened the imagination of thousands and it is kinda cruel to take a character that has such a well established fan interpretation , with thousands of collective hours spent creating it, and changing it. Yeah, they have the right to do it but it doesn't make it any less dickish. |

I did this purely to see what it would look like, since we didn't get a complete view of her eye in the flash game files. As for me photoshopping her with blue eyes, that's simply for my own enjoyment. I'm not stopping anyone from drawing her with red eyes. |
