That is the harsh reality of the Art World. There are those who are over rated and those who are underrated mostly due to how they "marketed" their work. It happened to artists in history and it happens to them now. Whether it is music, drawing, dancing etc. |

Now, while it is a shame that some good artists go unnoticed, that's just the way life is. It can change, but just not immediately. Some people work their asses off and don't get the credit they deserve until far ahead in the future, but oh fucking well. You either aren't pedaling to the right people, if at all for that matter, or are in need to change your approach. Or for an easy way to gain instant fame, bandwagon, steal a style(not the product) or SELL OUT; that's the harsh truth. Don't blame the famous people for your lack of shine, that's just stupid. |

What does it means? Everyone else should add a vag to their ponies to be just as popular! But seriously... Madmax for example does not take commisions for R34 and is pretty popular. You DON'T have to make r34 to be popular on the internets... but it helps. And of course if you draw badly even adding vags and boobs will help you only so much. |

Oh really? Then name every underrated pony artist that produces tasteful work in good quality. At the same time, you will have to notice every overrated pony artist that produces tasteful work in good quality as those will be used agaisnt you in a counter-argument.
You'll also have to show if people are actually treating him as if "he's the greatest thing that has happened to art." You'll also probably have to prove that all types of porn that are stand-still images are not, as you put it, "tasteful." So what of artist's like The Weaver (Glitter Glue)? The guy sucks from an artistic perspective, but what he produces is entertaining, so no one really cares. Also what of Crooked Trees (sans porn)? His stuff is weird, and a bit violent, but still interesting. Would these artists count as over-rated as well? Even if they did would it really matter since their work carters to a particular audience? |

This is the philosophical conundrum art poses. How can a person say something looks good and something looks bad if it has to be processed by their own brain first. It is all a matter of perception. The color yellow can mean two completely different things in two different minds. Why do I like Slugbox's works then? Mostly due to the time and effort put into his creations. I could care less whether the subject matter is NSFW or not, granted it will change when and where i view the creations. To openly hate upon an artist for his artstyle+subject matter is like hating a fish because it filters water for oxygen rather than breathing air. People dont need to conform, regardless of the many stereotypes that push you to.
Bronies, you're making me sad. I became one because we sent a message saying "We dont care it is ponies, it is done well" but here we are arguing that this is bad despite the time and effort put into it. I hate hypocracy. |
