I do a lot of these nowadays, don't I? Especially with the mecha.
Anyhow, yeah. I've not seen much of Godannar. I've heard it's loaded with fanservice or innuendo or something. But I only saw a clip where the female character gripped a joystick between the male character's legs and together they did an attack that, at the climax, made some sort of explosive release-type attack inside of an enemy mecha. So, no, I have no idea what kind of innuendo to expect. |

dudemang: it's probably the awesomest most epic-est fanservice show imaginable. It's like they took G Gundam and put threw the Radam from Tekkaman Blade into the mix, along with Ikkitousen-styled fanservice. Also kind of a spoof as becoming too 'hot-blooded' is apparently what creates the 'boss creatures' of the show. They are former pilots! (another tekkaman similarity) So you have to have the reactions and skills of Domon while pacing yourself with the cold stoicism of Zechs to avoid going totally apeshit alien invader. The fanservice is nearly all about camera angles, skimpy clothing, stick-y innuendo, and bot#2 being just as much a hot chick as the female lead. Action and dialogue-wise it's more like a traditional super robot series, without as much ridiculous posing. There are many many similarities to the post-tournament section of G Gundam (especially the 'heartbreaker' which functions like the powered up Erupting at the end Rain and Domon teamed up for) and Tekkaman Blade. The romance part is pretty much what misnamed said, the big guy's ex-wife was presumed dead but actually in suspended animation all these years, and they accidentally wake her up when they go to a derelict station. She is of course less than pleased. |
