Out of 6? Yeah, I'd have only taken off 1 point for thinking rabbits have two legs instead of four, since their front paws are so morphologically different from the back paws. Really, if a student pushed it I'd probably ignore it. It's clear that the student understands the setup matching limbs to variables, and solving the resulting matrix equation.
Also, yeah, your math prof needs to proofread. I suspect English is not their native tongue, though, which means some allowance is reasonable to make. |

I already solved this one: X=Chickens=4, Y=Butterflies=6, Z=Rabbits=3. Did it all with a basic calculator and the Determimant and Inverse Matrix Methods. |
