There is probably just another cloudtown we haven't seen, like Cloudsdale.
Or maybe Griffin's are just an unseen minority in Cloudsdale. The Mule, Matilda, and others live in Ponibooru, but we don't really see them very often in background shots. |

My you know how New Orleans IRL has a large french population? I think it's possibly something like that, and that Gryphons happen to be among the french-speaking population. |

It seems that Gryphons are very european. There's this French-speaking example. "Gilda" is an anglo-saxon name IRL. If we believe that the gryphons in Equestria immigrated from elsewhere, that means there would be a much larger proportion of Gryphons living across the pond in places like France, Germany, Czechslovakia, and possibly up into Scandinavian areas. |

I like to think they live in Mountainous areas that are Vaguely Germanic, Maybe some bits of Russian, and Switzerland in scenery
And their culture is a combination of Germanic tribe, Nordic, and Greek Empire ESPECIALLY on the downcline way. |

So if Zebras are African, buffalos are Native American, Pegassi are Greece and Gryphones are French what does that mean for the other species?
Perhaps Earth Ponies are American. The only Earth Pony only towns are Appleossa and Dodge Junction and the Apple Clan have an American accent, too. And the Unicorns are… Italians perhaps? Because they have castles and statue gardens and big libraries = Renaissance? Or maybe I'm overthinking all of this. |

I think the "Gryphon Nation" was stereotyped as warlike because of Gilda's behavior, now that we know Gustave I think gryphons are going to be portrayed as a more peaceful nation.
I also agree that gryphon culture appears to be both Germanic and french influenced, so perhaps the gryphon nation shares borders with the Equestrian region from which Photo Finish comes from (since she also speaks German). I however do not see Pegasus as Greek (their armor only), I think it is the minotaurs who will have a culture similar to ancient Greece. |

Wut? Switzerland was a nation of mercenaries till late 19th century. And thought it mantained neutrality in 20th century, it's most armed and militaristic European nation today. |
