And Yeah, a lot of fighting games suffer from this "ambidexterity." The only one that I know that doesn't is Tekken, and quite possibly Soul Calibur. |

It's an artifact of 2D sprite art. If a 3D game does it (Street Fighter 4), it's a purely artistic choice.
