I also must state that the researcher was foolish to assume the Fluffy might react any better then that.
Fluffy ponies are animals and not particularly nice ones at that. Often they're stupid enough to appear that way but they're just not. I see this sort of thing as a sort of confusion caused by their speech. The human believes the animal is smarter then it truly is because of an inborn trait of the species, as such the human foolishly behaves as if the animal on question is somehow more then that and has the necessary intellect to possess a higher degree of responsibility for their actions. The truth is, Fluffy Ponies would probably get treated with less annoyance if they couldn't talk because then they wouldn't have to live up to expectations they cannot reach. |

I, too, would like to see more "research" done on the species. I've read the "Lake" series and "The Reset". Both delved into the realm of fluffy IQ.
@338 I agree on the nice comment, since in what I've seen; domestic ones tend to depend heavily on us while wild ones can sense threats and try to deal with them like in the 2 stories about being marooned on an island with fluffies. I'm more concerned on the shooting. Every story I've read had fluffies running in terror after a loud sound, unless the parental instincts trump fear |

@motxmod: The wild fluffy ponies were probably concerned enough about the fluffy foals to temporarily ignore the loud bang sound.
Unless the 'varmint grenade' just makes a sound that is similar to fluffsplosion. |
