See if you can take the head off or if you can separated the halfs some other way. Then, put a bolt though the piece, and use a washer to secure it. |

Clip it shorter then dig it out with a craft knife. The tail is probably in there too tight to pull out. I'd probably put the new tail in then fill the hole around it with epoxy clay.
Paint it. Sharpies are tempting but do you want to risk it running after you're finished? |
