I'm not entirely sure what the meaning behind this is, but it made me think about how when ponies get their cutie marks it kind of ends any visions for their future. They don't really have options anymore because they can only do one things. Sorta sad. |

@Anon137: I think you see it wrong, as cutie mark has to do with the pony's special talent, what they do with that talent is still up to them.
We can all tell that Sweetie's will be singing, but what she sings and how she does it is not set in stone even after she get's her cutie mark. |

Rainbow Dash is a good example of that.
Her talent is flying fast. We've also seen that she is a great coach. |
