Discord, talking Derpy, the falling scene with Spike and Rarity, everything else in The Last Roundup.

Yeah I'd say that I'm enjoying season 2 more than season 1.

I'm enjoying Season 2 more than i am Season one, oddly enough. Are there as many memeable moments? Not really, but I think the quality (songs, animation, story) are even stronger than the first season.

That's not to say Season 1 isn't amazing, but Studio B has really turned up the awesome now that they don't have the restrictions of keeping Twilight in every episode. It's hard to write around a single character when you've got a cast of nine that you can work so much better.

I like both seasons, but I must admit I like a lot the way the writers are starting to do stuff especially for us, the Periphery Demographic, and that season made me laugh a lot more than the first one.
Season one was awesome, season two is even beyond that.

Basically, I agree with Vanner. Show was epic, is even better, and I hope it'll stay this good for another year or two. (Honestly, I'll keep watching until they stop. I mean, The Simpsons held 11 seasons before jumping the shark from "awesome show" to "some awesome episodes". I'm sure MLP can hold at least half as long. As long as the writers have fun.)

They are both awesome for their own reason. Sure, some episodes in Season 2 weren't awesome, but there hasn't been a single episode I haven't enjoyed. I laughed and smiled at something in every episode.

It's all good.

I think I enjoy Season 2 more because I'm watching it when each new episode comes out unlike Season 1 which I watched all at once back in June, so I missed out on all the wacky hi-jinks that took place between episodes.

Still both seasons are good.

I like both for different reasons. I miss Twilight being the main character and the mandatory aesop sometimes but I like the improvements in animation and a little bit stronger jokes.

Ironically enough, I prefer Season 2 over Season 1 despite the fact that Season 2 had more episodes that I just flat-out didn't like (thank you Merriweather Williams >:( )

Ok, I will say one thing. Season 2 seems to be more "outrageous" than Season 1 ever was. Like there's more wild stuff. Not saying that's good or bad, just that it seems to be that way.

The only people who are stuck on Season 1 are the Church of Lauren Faust nutjobs. Plus those drama queens over at pony forums including Ponychan and /mlp/ that makes a big stink about Merriweather Williams and Mare Do Well and Season 2 in general. Bunch of annoying whiners.

Season 1 had the novelty of being the shock-to-the-system for non-pony fans (pretty much most of FIM fandom) but I feel Season 2 is better by pushing boundaries with every episode.

Honestly, I really like season two. But I don't think that anything will ever recapture the same exhilaration of discovery that went along with my "honeymoon period" of my bronydom. That magical time where I finally cracked the hard shell that cynicism and adulthood had formed around my heart, gave in, and did nothing but PONY for almost four months.

Call me nuts or naive, but I think it's still in a 'honeymoon' period as a cartoon. All the implied drama of 'out of character' and 'new writers out to destroy the show' and all the nastiness is coming from the hypercritical forum visiting types (you know... where they typically complain and whine a lot. In pretty much every forum out there).

All this cynicism exists for the fans who are way too self aware of their own fandom and throw their weight around (or try to).

@I_Like_Your_Mane

The hate is probably because of the ending: the other ponies resorted to tricking Dash into making a fool of herself without even trying to talk to her about her atitude first, all of it over something as small as boasting.

As for myself, besides the solution and the many better ways the situation could have been worked out, I didn't like the pacing either. Nearly the whole episode was taken by the development, and the ending felt too rushed, with Dash discovering the truth and regreting her actions almost instantly.

But it was not just boasting. It was rolling downhill. If you want to blame anyone, blame the townsfolk for egging the popularity onto their flavor-of-the-day. We saw this happen to Applejack several times. It's about time it happened to RD, who probably would have been more receptive towards arrogant behavior than AJ. AJ's the most humble pony and she fell victim to it. It only makes sense RD did too.

>As for myself, besides the solution and the many better ways the situation could have been worked out, I didn't like the pacing either. Nearly the whole episode was taken by the development, and the ending felt too rushed, with Dash discovering the truth and regreting her actions almost instantly.

I thought the pacing was good enough. Though it could have gone faster to the end. Then again, that episode had a LOT of scenes and I think some are forgetting that. And yet some of the criticism is that the episode moved too fast... Can't please everyone.

I agree with the very ending, then again, the episode itself seemed to be the morality of the day playing out. Maybe the episode doing that so apparently is why it may have irked so many people. The latest CMC episode did something similar but without forcing a Celestia letter to do it.

Either way, the way MMDW is being singled out as the 'worst ever' is overtly dramatic. People said the same thing to Pinkie Keen and that Owlicious episode. Looking back at them, they were fine episodes. Not to mention all this hyper criticism doesn't seem to extend to the larger fandom proper. We can usually see more to dissect the more we make a point to dissect it.

The flaws in MMDW is the same as in every episode in this show: Ridiculous time constraints. Almost no episode other than 2 parters get the chance to properly elongate the story more naturally and fluidly to the next. Just the typical constraints of a show that tries to encapsulate every episode into the timeslot.

I can see why some think MMDW's ending was rushed. Though I can probably say the same for almost all endings so far. There's been very, very few endings that hasn't been rushed a bit.

If only a different, better writer, had tackled the issuse of boasting. If only they had busted out this lesson back in season 1.

But yeah, its all a matter of taste. Personally I think williams sucks. Hearths warming IMO is the worst episode of series, Dragon Quest is mud tier, and both of her other episodes have already been done.

Just as some people dont like the show at all, I understand that some of you disagree. Thats why they make so many shows and so many flavors of ice cream. [spolier]Because you are retards with terrible taste[/spolier] [spolier] JK [/spolier]

@I_Like_Your_Mane

I have to agree with you. Everypony on the episode was at fault, some more than others, but it seemed like all the blame was tossed on Dash. This is probably what bothered me the most.

I think the main difference between MMDW and Ponyville Confidential was that everypony was honest to the Crusaders by letting them know that what they did was wrong, and thus allowing them to patch things up themselves, no overly complicated plan involved. This was one of the things that made Ponyville Confidential my third favorite episode.

Nothing to discuss about the time constraints: they're probably one of the greatest curses of the show.

@#1228767

I honestly don't see what's the big deal with boasting. I know it can be quite obnoxious, but sometimes it seems to be treated as the worst crime that a living being could ever commit. There are flaws that I consider far more harmful than boasting.

While I can understand why so many people hate her, I believe that she improved herself since MMDW. MMDW really rustled my jimmies. Hearths Warming was pretty dull, 3 days later I could barely remember the episode existed. Dragon Quest could have been better, but it was still quite enjoyable.

Both have their ups and downs. There are a few lesser episodes in both, that doesn't mean anything. I personally prefer season two, but each to his/her own.
