I guess when a wild herd goes a few generations in without any real human contact, they start losing the ingrained need for human care. They also turn into little fluffy jerks. Not that I can blame them, given how a lot of humans treat fluffies. |

@lordanubis In most stories they were always jerks, even when loving their owner, fluffies only think of their own needs. It's what happens with little to no concept of the feelings of others. |

This. They lack the higher mental capacity to be truly considerate of other beings. As such a Fluffy Pony is essentially an amoral being who in some stories would kill their own foals if they were jealous of the attention they got. |

This whole "you guys fluffy ponies are actually amoral little shits inflicting suffering on them is cool" trend is the latest and weakest evolution of the fluffy pony thing.
First it was fluffy ponies were just dumb and got themselves killed from being so dumb. Then it was owners abusing them because they were cute and innocent and the stories were going for shock value. Then they went into all sorts of weird experimental routes, such as killing the fluffy ponies being necessary or treating them with apathetic cruelty being practical. This latest variation appears to take the abuse stories and tries to put forward a feeble justification by portraying the fluffy ponies as contemptible for being simple and dumb. It makes an effort to emphasize that they're selfish and inadvertedly (or maybe intentionally) cruel. This makes abuse 'justified', so that if anyone complains about the violence they must be some sort of idiot wimp. For maximum troll potential, make the justification really weak (like here) so you can mock people who try to argue the cruelty isn't justified. At this point the whole damn thing's become unrecognizable in the name of making the most effective stories to troll with above all else. Such a waste of time. |
