Maybe "young" flyer is not that impressive and there is a contest for -senior- flyers? As for the sonic rainboom I know it's been touted to legendary status but I'll just assume it's one of many pegasus tricks, and the reason it's an old tale is because it's been a while another rainbow-themed pegasus came around. |

Well, they only cared about social status. As soon as Jet Set and Uppercrust found out about Rarity's hometown they changed their mind about her hat. When she became Fancypants favourite they started inviting her to all sort of events. So yeah, she won a prize and and made a Sonic Rainboom, but to them she's only a pony from Ponyville (or Cloudsdale, whateve), those feats wouldn't have impressed them, so Rarity had to tell them someway that RD was important from a social point of view.
At least that's what I think. |

It's like if someone among the elite said his/her son became the class football team leader.
Sure it is some archivement but not something you could brag about among high society. Then again the mane 6 were all ridiculously important and if the discord 2 parted were of any indication their indentities are no secret at all. It's one of those small continuity sacraficess that are sometimes needed to make an episode. |
