I have a feeling she's trying to be like her father but only copying what she thinks his job is like, ie bossing ponies around.

The irony is that Filthy Rich isn't really a bad guy at all. So Diamond Tiara clearly thinks her father is a bossy douchebag. |

This is pretty much my theory on her. She look up to her father so much she wants to earn his aproval by trying to be mature and competent, but she get it all wrong and end up acting like a bitch. However, despite her flawed methods and lack of experience, she seems to have some talent in business/leadership. |
