While it pained me to see the treatment they received, the ending was perfect. They realized their mistakes by themselves and managed to set everything right in the end. |

Really, I saw it as the creators teasing us. There were several times where they were just about to explain something or show something that we would have eaten right up, but pulled up at the last moment.
Things like Applebloom's segment on the history of Ponyville, Spike talking about what his business in Canterlot entails, things like that. I guess they did hint at a few other things, though, what with things like "Celestia just like us?" or Sweetie Belle stopping Rarity's magic by hitting her horn. |
