I saw like one episode of the Digimon anime and I didn't like it.
Meanwhile, I love the Pokémon anime far more than can possibly be healthy.
In conclusion:

Agreed. Especially since with Digimon, they actually tried new things, and made them different enough that they could pass them off as different series. With Pokémon, they rehash the same thing over and over, but with new regions and creatures when new games come out.

While I agree, Digimon games have been improving, Digimon World Dusk/Dawn from a few years ago were extremelly similar to Pokémon games, yes, but only because they have the same theme, and also had some extremelly complicated evolution methodes(I f*cking dare you to find most DNA evolutions by yourself...), if you look at it, Dragon Quest Monsters is very close to Pokémon too.

In the anime, Digimon always had a more serious plot, Digimon Tamers had a whole Lovecraftian horror ready to destroy both Digital and Human worlds, Pokémon anime, in the other hand, sums up the plot with "Ash get badges, Ash goes into league, Ash gets his ass handed in the final steps of the league", even in Battle Frontier parts it doesn't change much, it had some awesome moments though, Charizard vs. Articuno still is one of my favorite parts of any anime, to me, the anime would have improved a lot if they just let Ash go and picked a new protagonist, those few "Pokémon Chronicals" episodes were very interesting to me specifically because they let us explore other character than Ash.

Now two other things not mentioned: Manga and overall mythology.

Digimon Manga, much like the anime, do not follow an specific character or group for long, Digimon V-Tamer 01 was incredibly awesome and was the story that make me love UlforceVeedramon, we also have Digimon Next, which follows a similar plot to Digimon Frontier anime(4th season, for those unaware)(abeit with completelly different evolution methode) and Digimon D-Cyber, which makes absolute zero sense if you don't watch the Digimon X-Evolution movie, Pokémon Manga, I am aware, exist several versions, but the only one I ever read was Pokemon Adventures/Special, and I must say, it is awesome, specially in earlier arcs, things lost some quality on latter arcs, but still a very good manga, and wanna know why? simple, they change the protagonists every once in a while, allowing the story to stay fresh, we have a whole list of character which by now form a small elite army, do the math, at least 3 characters per generation, times 5 generations, times 6 pokemons per character, makes a total of 96 Pokémons counting Yellow(4th character of G1), each of then also have special abilites, such as Yellow's healing, capacity of temporarially power a Pokémon from lvl 20-ish to mid 80s in a few seconds and mind reading Pokémons(yeah... she is kinda of a Mary Sue...), Red and Ruby's incredible battle skills, Gold's breeding and so on, in the end, I must say Pokémon manga wins, if only for the fact they keept the same universe allowed a huge badass crew.

Mythology... hoo boy, Digimon wins this one EASY, sure, Pokémon got a very long and worthy mythology, we have meet the Pokémon god, said to create everything that exists and we keep going, but Digimon... Digimon is just HUGE, to begin with, the fact it keeps a different world from human world allows far more that is normally possible, and the digital world by itself is huge, the fact Digimon do have more serious takes on several subjects, we have a group of digimon who is based on the seven deadly sins constantly ploting to destroy the digital world(abeit, as Beelzemon constantly proves, dark is not evil), we also have a group of Digimon Angels, who despite the fact are severelly underpowered in comparision to the Demon Lords, still hold place as one of the greatest hopes of the Digital World(and the fact the evil Demon Lords can rarelly agree gives then a huge advantage...), we also have the 13 Royal Knights, who answer directly to Yggdrasil, a supercomputer that acts as the god of the digital world, and some other minor groups, like the Olympus Twelve, based on roman gods, and for the last two, the whole group isn't completelly released yet(we only have about to 11 Knights and 8 olympus gods), and things keep going, a bonus point Digimon have is that the Digital World is not real... well, it is, but it was spawned by the Human World's technology and is still greatly influenced by it, back on Digimon Tamers season, Digimons could even become stronger by eating eletronics(though this method was only used by the Devas), indeed, if Digimons really existed, this very post would become a Digimon of sorts(and judging by the size of the post, I'd bet on an Ultimate level at very least, possibly a lower tier Mega), everything someone writes on the internet would become data into the Digital World and change it somehow, in a never-ending process, it is just too big to contemplate.

Yeah, I realize this ended up a little teenie bit too big... and that many will just say "TL;DR", but I kinda got caught in a roll, and if I stopped, the subject would stay flying on my head all night and wouldn't let me sleep well...

What happened in it? "Digimon: Digital Monsters" and "Digimon Tamers" were awesome (except for some filler). Were the humans becoming Digimon or working for the government? Because those were "Digimon Frontier" and "Digimon: Data Squad" (a.k.a. the worst piece of crap ever). I apologize if it featured an alien forcing a kid to do yoga, because that was the worst non-filler (not including Takeru's [in]famous "laughter" speech).

^^I doubt it's more than an in-training/baby/fresh level. It took 2 decades of researching the lunar cycle to gather enough data to make a Lunamon(rookie/child). Maybe it could make a child virus (assuming vaccines use more data than data, which in turn [theoretically] uses more data than virus). But still, that would be one weak Digimon.

Quick reviews of all the digimon seasons:

1. Gotta give it credit. There would be no digimon without it. This one had arguably the darkest looking digimon, with all sorts of scars and leather and whatnot.
2. Basically just a continuation of 1.
3. Badass, but all the porn ruined it.
4. Pretty fucking awesome since the main character looked like Satan. But if you're going to parody Power Rangers, at least make the main characters adults.
5. The best, darkest, and most violent season of digimon and probably the only one you can watch without feeling like a pedophile.
6. Way to cheesy at parts but still awesome just because it's so full of Satanism.

Correction: If it weren't for a weird, one-off manga, the animés wouldn't exist. I say weird because, well, most of the Digimon made cute animal noises (the protagonist's partner [Bun, the Bunnomon] just said "Maryoko"). The stuff the gives Digimon its Digimon-ness started in "V-Tamer: 01". The goggles first made their appearance at that point, and the protagonist had Davis's partner and Tai's name (Japanese, so Yagami Taichi, not Taichi Kamiya). I take that "Davis's partner" stuff back; Zer0's alway's at champion, and has his own name: Zer0maru. Of course, not everything was set in stone yet: not only did they have their own names back then (and once a Digimon was at champion, it couldn't go back down to rookie) and- I know this seems impossible, but hear me out- Leo the Leomon doesn't die! An obvious display of how much it was a prototype, given that Leomon ALWAYS dies. Unless that Leomon is a villain, it which place it takes a hell of a lot longer for that to happen. X-Evolution's Leomon died within THE FIRST 5 MINUTES! Thank you for listening to this.....this.

Digimon Games are generally underrated. Fanms who whine because they are not based on the Anime, people who claim it to be a Pokemon Rip-Off anyways. And people who are simply too stupid to play them.
Meanwhile Pokemon Games are the same crap over and over again.

Pokémon games have a 75% chance of being good, and the Pokémon anime is pretty much always the worst thing ever. The awesomeness of all the good series of Digimon makes up for Frontier and Savers, so much better in that regard, but should the Toei guys be reading this: Stop, we don't need video games to go with V-pets.
Ending that aside, I now present the manga thing:
Both Pokémon and Digimon manga are big hit or miss things; for both the quality is effectively randomized, though I'm really into Pokémon Special, and plan on doing some voice acting in a later arc of the fan-animated series (I was thinking a Unovan scientist, I mean, most of them are girls, so I might do any of them). I'm also sort of into some of the Digimon manga, but nopony's making an anime based on that, so whatever. And yeah Digimon shouldn't make games. Also, to Game Freak: We don't need any of your cheap, thrown together at the last second, V-pets!
