Oh, I agree. Artists should be entitled to their own work and have their wishes regarding where it's posted respected. That doesn't change the fact that I find this post completely weak sauce and unnecessarily full of drama. And so what if racist or trollish anons make fun? What if other people really enjoy it? You could build a select base that way. It's been shown time and time again, however, that negative comments grab attention and influence people WAY more than positive. If this person is so touchy then they would be upset even if the positive to negative comment ration was 10-1 |

I just checked out her tumblr. She's a decent artist, but there are better artists with far better attitudes.
While she has a right to dislike our ways, Shannon's being a real bitch. I know she won't read this, but still... Shannon, there's this thing called "Projection". It's bad. You do it. People have opinions. They might run counter to yours. Get over it. And really, if someone here ignores her demands and posts her stuff, what recourse does she have? The vast majority of what she draws is either characters from copyrighted works (Disney), or derivative thereof (MLP). In other words, legally she can't do shit because she's not the copyright holder, and we'd never post her original stuff anyway. Normally, I'd be all for respecting an artist's wishes about reposting, but her bad attitude makes me want to start posting EVERYTHING of hers EVERYWHERE just to piss her off. |

I'm not an anon, so the criticism isn't directed against me specifically. I only have a problem with people who say they want to be "professionals" yet can't take criticism.
I draw too. I know I'm not very good, and I know I don't take criticism well. That's why I never post anything. I have no interest in actually spamming the interwebs with her art. My time is better spent doing things that are somewhat more constructive. Also, even though I don't think it's a huge concern, I'd rather not annoy the artists we do want to keep around, like MS (if he'd quit doing explicit lolicon), JJ, CL, 7N, etc. |

Let me correct and clarify myself: my art has been published, back when I worked for a small-town newspaper a few years ago. And I was paid (very little), so I guess that technically makes me a professional even though I don't see myself that way. I'm not ashamed of the work I did, but I also know there are artists far better than me, and I have no interest in publishing art again until I can improve enough that I could justify it. I much prefer writing anyhow ^_^ |

I apologize OP, but some bronies don't care about the fact that it is your art or your request. I'm sorry. Your best bet is to simply not post your work online or to make it as private as possible. |

But, generalizing EVERYONE from a single page is stupid, the same would be for attacking FurAffinity because everyone is furry or dA because stealing is common and mods get assholy from time to time. If you don't KNOW a shit about how stuff is done, don't talk a SHIT then, not to mention you lost because your racism. Tumblr might be good, but is mostly reblog only, you don't GET to know people that much there, I usually follow people that I know or thematic tumblrs, but that's it. Not to mention you just took another opinion, you probably don't even agree with the whole comments about these places, but you still use them to shield behind. I knew people that were assholes because they thought they're THE shit, but generally, they're pathetic, I can mention some even... But why bother? Believe it or not, you don't have to go throw some extensive legal process to establish copyright. It's instantly granted simply by virtue of being the artist. We ought to respect her requests.

Troll comments are "rampant" on any site without proper moderation. Anon #1207843, my protecting this woman assuming that he posted this in good faith does not excuse YOUR not being able to differentiate between trolls and the generally decent users on a site.
Bronies' only real fault is frequenting sites like /mlp/ or Ponibooru which have expressedly little to no interest in moderation, rather than trying to boycott them and more actively creating more heavliy moderated boards. Which would be the only real course of action they could take. Maybe that's what needs to happen. When it is a choice between a blatant troll's freedom of speech (who's never going to return thanks for it) and preserving oversensitive/unsavvy child/young teen or grandmother who's going to visit the site, it's not a question for me which side I am on. However all this does not excuse YOU as an individual from not falling victim to generalization and giving due respect. YOU are pushing the responsibility of dealing with this bad element to people who have thicker skins than you and who are only normal fans who come here for enjoyment same as you. PS Before this makes the headlines as "Vree supports taking our freedom", don't worry xD There's precious little chance that Eco will ever budge. Ponibooru will always remain the same old site as we know it. (=A mess. :p) The same goes for /mlp/; critics will eventually have to learn to ignore these or pretend that they don't exist. All we can do to prevent these guys from fleeing is keeping the hug box sites as @Fronzel puts it going. When they are absorbed enough in those they won't put too much weight on what's going on elsewhere.

Do they simply not care?
