Lyra has never had any audible spoken lines outside of crowd shots. I'm under the impression that she's mute, BonBon is her friend in part because she can read lips, and her obsession with humans and hands ironically comes from the desire to be understood by more ponies. It would also explain why she's so emotive all the time. |

Also, anyone notice that there's very few fics where Lyra and Bonbon discover one another and instead have always known one another?
I mean we see Lyra in Canterlot in the first episode but then she moved to Ponyville like Twilight. I see untapped potential! |
