Soviets attacking an Islamic like place?
Eh, kinda the last people I expected to do something like that, maybe Muslim ponies, but hey, should be interesting. |

I was more thinking of Israel, but it makes more sense as Afghanistan. I'm just under the impression the place is like Israel since the blog is Islamshy after all. |

Rocket arty piece doesn't match with anything in the Soviet/Russian inventory. There just isn't anything with that dual launcher configuration. Closest I can find is the LAR-160 which is an Israelis piece, which is ironic on multiple levels... |

I think it could be the US's MRLS (Multiple Rocket Launcher System) or something, which is even weirder... |

ObssN here, too lazy to log-in right now...
^Nope. The United States M270 uses only a single "flat" launcher. The vehicle in the picture has a pair of "long" launchers. Compare, M270:
Versus the LAR-160:
For the record, Soviet/Russian MRLS's launchers tend to be in a "clustered tubes", rails, or a single "box" launcher. As examples, the BM-30 'Smerch' has a "clustered tubes"-style launcher:
The BM-13 (ye olde 'Katyusha') has a "rails"-style launcher:
And the BM-21 'Grad' has a "box" style launcher. |
