I kinda like the whole DepresseDerpy theme because of this.
Imagine that, everyone expecting Derpy to just shake off being discorded (as she does in some fancomics). The mane6 joking that she may have her eyes straightened out. And instead we get this defeated Derpy in total contrast to her usual cheerful personality that remains bright despite every problem and failure, Discorded Derpy actually realizes her failures and imperfections as such, and is thoroughly sick of this world that throws constant torments at her. |

It's a reference between 9 and Rose, where Rose absorbed the time stream or something like that and did the whole 'Bad Wolf' thing and pwned a bunch of Daleks. 9 absorbed the energy out of her to keep her from dying and regenerated into 10. |
