Also, I'm not exactly unhappy, St. Braeburn, just dissatisfied with black Twi. I'll just be patient and wait for the white version, THEN I'll be happy. No need to start another argument about artist's choice in race(even though black human Twi seems to be almost universally accepted as canon.) |

I actually kinda like Takanuva's pic above me, because even though purple's not a normal human colour, at least it's the colour Twilight actually is. Plus, there's no horn or tail. I hate horned-humanization even more than I dislike Black Twilight (hell, I hate horned-human more than Black Rarity and Muslim Fluttershy, both of which need to be banished to the pits of Tartarus).
@CodenameOne - Black human Twi is most definitely NOT "almost universally accepted as canon". The number of artists who do it full-on is a minority (no pun intended), and most of the prominent humanizers, including MS, don't do it (when he colours his own stuff, Twi is always light-skinned). If it was more accepted, then there wouldn't be a shitstorm every time one appeared. Nobody complains about a black Zecora or even a noticeably-darker Daring-Do (JJ's specialty). Frankly, I wouldn't care quite so much if I didn't already know that the wonderful actors who give these characters voice are all lily-white Canadians. Because of that, I can't ever see these characters as anything else. Trying to deny that feels like diversity for diversity's sake, which is political correctness, which is wrong. |

^^Yes, because all animated characters are the same race as their voice actors. And Bart Simpson is really a woman. The ponies are so obviously meant to be normal white people that anyone diverging from that in their humanizations must be "forcing diversity for diversity's sake." It can't be that they have their own preferences for one reason or another. |
