Seriously?
And why nobody is complaining about the beef you eat for lunch, or the turkey you eat at Thanksgiving?, you should eat cucumber salad at thanksgiving, or leave bullfighting alone.

^ Because neither of those food animals was gored with several spears so the pain and blood loss made it easier to kill for entertainment and then not eat?

Seriously, that was the dumbest thing I've read today.

There's a difference between slitting a cow's throat (quick) for food versus tormenting a bull for the hell of it (prolonged) and eating it as an afterthought

^ The animal still has to die, at least this way it gets a fighting chance. If you've never worked in a slaughterhouse or even seen the killing of an animal you've got no platform to preach at us from.

Not really Anon931, it's not the same an animal raised for human being food, than an animal raised only for satisfaction of a stupid human desire for blood. And what you called "a chance to fight", is not real, is like gladiators on the ancient Rome -a fight of the scum of Roman society, burglars, killers- the "fight" is given in unequal conditions, the bull is scared, was kept awake the night before the "fight", can't see nor think clearly, that's why those stupid humans can stab him.

And if ponies can stop this nonsense, so-called "art", I am with them

@Takashi, "animal rights"? Excuse me but that's stupid, what anti-bullfighting ppl want is life to be respected, all kind of life, not to give animals rights.

P.S. I am the same Anon974, and shamely I admit I live in Colombia a country where this horror spectacle is celebrated yet :(

There is a continent called North America and a continent called South America. They are separate entities.

@974 Again, have you ever seen an animal that's slaughtered for food die? It doesn't look like you have. There's nothing peaceful or instant about death. When you slit something's throat it goes through an agonizing death of bleeding out and drowning on it's own blood. Even with lethal injections that simply put the subject to sleep the animal knows that something is up and isn't comfortable. This is talking about family pets who get to die in the same room with those that they trust. Around total strangers it's even more unnerved. It's the same with people, watch an execution.

The bull might be tired and scared, but that's not why the men are able to kill it. Watch rodeo bullfighting sometime. Human athletic agility is capable of dealing with a rested and ready bull. And just so you know, plenty of bullfighters get screwed up pretty badly. There's one in this topic, for example.

That semicolon should be a comma.

Also, I'd be more impressed by bullfighters if they did it alone with their bare hands.
