Just throwing this out there.
As a form of birth-control, it should be illegal. Sorry, if you're dumb enough to get knocked up because you didn't play it safe, that's your fault. But for rape victims, or women who are almost guaranteed to suffer potentially lethal complications during childbirth? They deserve a choice, I think. The rape victims have been punished enough, don't destroy eighteen years of their lives against their will. And would you condemn a woman to death from childbirth simply because you think the alternative is wrong? Abortion is a bad thing, but damn it these women deserve a choice. |

The purpose of the government is not to make it safer to violate someone's rights. If the fetus does not deserve the right to life, it doesn't matter whether abortion is done because of rape or for birth control, because there is nothing wrong woth it. That would be like only being for dentistry in the case of injuries but not for cosmetic reasons or to fix cavities. If the embryo or fetus is not a person with the right to live, no justification for elective abortion is necessary. If the fetus is a person with a right to live, no justification for elective abortion is adequate. |
