Well, If Cadence, Celestia and Luna are not born from the nothingness, maybe they had parents... If these parents are not showed and/or mentioned, maybe they are dead. And obliviously they can feel death.

Glord : never thought to it. Personaly my headcanon is that the Alicorns was decimated 1000 ago. ^^

My headcanon states Alicorns evolved 10,000 years ago and were the progenitor of the three modern pony species. They lead a magnificent civilization which proved too successful and lead to their downfall. Wars that lasted for 2000 years, numerous cataclysmic events, and genetic and magic turbulence artificial and natural, evil vs good. |
