You know what I'm honestly hoping for? That this season finale finishes the overall story of Friendship is Magic, and that S3 time-skips forward a few years acting as an 'epilogue' of sorts/making way for the next series/gen of MLP. That in the 13 eps of S3 we get to see how things change for our characters over the next couple of years, like Spike and CMC growing up.
I dunno, just an odd dream I guess. |

Well, considering the sharp contrast between how Spike looks like when he grows up (the first being when Twi earned her cutie mark, and the second was from greed) I would like to think that his attitude and personality determines how he'll look like when he hits dragon puberty. Maybe he'll be no bigger than Big Mac. I doubt it, though. |

#1193987 Kinda like what Naruto did, except without the "SAASUKEE!!!"? |
| FuzzyFenrir #1194035 3 months ago |
While, yes, that does sound absolutely delightful, I really doubt it would happen.
Why waste a plot like that when Hasbro could use it for a spin-off series. But what do I know. Crazier stuff had happened. Like me liking RD and 'Shy. |

I'm kind of hoping they never make a time skip. Leaving some things open can be more interesting than resolving everything. |

#1194039 Could you imagine the fandom crying over that? Especially if their ships didn't work out? (not that they had a chance to begin with) |
| FuzzyFenrir #1194056 3 months ago |
@PVR
You can make a time skip and STILL keep a few things open. Like how did the CMC finally earn their cutie marks. Or how did Twi finally lose her virginity. Or how didn't Pinkie die from diabeetus yet. |
| CogWeaver #1194057 3 months ago |
Well I was more thinking of the way Avatar:Last Airbender ended and made way for Legend of Korra, using a single-generation skip from Aang's time.
Basically, keep the same universe, Celestia's still in power, etc etc, but make the CMC and Spike the new main cast instead of eventually jumping the shark with Twi and the others. |
| CogWeaver #1194069 3 months ago |
And yeah, what Fuzzy said. Like if the CMC were the new main characters, you could have them have their CMs but not show how they got them. (You could leave that as a running gag that they keep referring to some insane adventure that earned them, but we'll never actually know what happened) |

@Cog
"Celestia's still in power" I can already hear the fanfics writers crying in pain, cutting their veins. Now just to make sure to bottle all those delicious tears. |

#1194056 I really hope those last two were jokes. Sometimes you can't tell in this fandom. Some people really want to see Fluttershy raped 'till she dies. Yeah. |

Applebloom: "That one time, in band camp...." |

@Anon
Dunno if you noticed, but even if I'm actually discussing a serious topic, I sprinkle it with lmaonaisse. Monkey. |

XD Yes, exactly. |

@#1194048
This is one of the reasons. It would allow each fan to draw its own conclusion while avoiding shitstorms, so everyone would win, except for those who just want to see the world burn. But honestly, as long as they give Apple Bloom a carpentry cutie mark I'll be able to live with the any destroyed headcanon. |
| FuzzyFenrir #1194101 3 months ago |
Carpentry Schmarpentry.
I want a sentry or crit wrench cutie mark. And yes, the sole reason for that is that one fanart of EngieBloom I saw. |

#1194092 As far as I'm concerned, headcanon's be damned. I hope they go out of the way to completely destroy any predictions fans have and just do what they want. Fans predictions are never right, and the episodes are always better and completely different from what fans expected. I mean, the last episode of this season was a wedding. Did anyone see the clones attacking? Didn't think so. |
| CogWeaver #1194122 3 months ago |
Just something building related. Doesn't have to be carpentry or mechanics, specifically.
Like AJ said once, in passing, "Heheh... She's so creative..." |
| PVRyohei #1194221 3 months ago |
@#1194119
I don't take any pleasure in seeing others misfortune, so if they do this I'll be seriously disappointed. I would be okay with them sticking to their original plans and ignoring fan speculation, but not with them going out of their way to destroy it. I believe that Apple Bloom's talent is to build/repair/craft things in the most beautiful and artistic way possible. Kind of carpentry with a bit of Rarity. |
| Anonymous #1194234 3 months ago |
speculation aside, i really like how spike looks here. |

I don't want a timeskip either. I don't want the crazies in this fandom to go all butthurt about it for eternity. |
| Wheezie_Moonflower #1199207 3 months ago |
Dammit, you just made me think of the "Season 3 superteaser" for "I Spy" at the end of its two-parter season 2 finale, showing clips of the next season amidst a flurry of action posing of Bill Cosby, Robert Culp and this girl who just joined them. |
