You'll find that's often the case. So-called 'cloppers' are generally more relaxed around morality since they understand not everything needs to fit in specific boxes to be enjoyed, and that there are things they like that others won't, and that's generally okay.
Moral guardians, however, see any deviations from their expected norm as filty and wrong and see themselves as heroes for standing up against it. In actual fact, it's their egos and self-importance speaking, as anyone who is more relaxed but still dissapproving would understand that people can and will like things that they don't. The world's greatest madmen were the ones who looked at the world and tried to change it into what it 'should' be, rather than actually seeing the world for what it is, warts and all. |

Why do some people group together the bad fans? I think there is a sort of drive to try to save your positive image of a group that you're part of by blaming the bad things on a small group of people, so that you can believe that the fandom as a whole is still a-okay. MLP is a good example of a fandom where this doesn't work, since the sickest fans are often the most productive.
You shouldn't flatter yourself and tell yourself that we're better than anyone else. We have plenty of problems, but like most groups we have our trademark ways to deal. If you joined any other fandom, you'd find that they are actually normal people too. What do you prefer, surfing the trolls and porn fans or drama queens or Mary Sues, is only a matter of preference. |

I honestly have fun coming here and attempting to make fun of you creeps (and doing a bad job at it). There seems to be no restrictions here and I can do just about whatever the fuck I want. I'm a member of another pony community that has rules against creepy stuff, and while I appreciate that, I have little desire to post there and to become involved in it. I pretty much only ever post each time a new episode airs and provide what little commentary I can (I try not to put much thought into a show who's target audience is little girls. Then again, I don't put much thought into anything else either...). |
