As much as I hate it I have to suggest she go with the renegade option, because according to Bioware only total assholes get to even have a chance at a "happy" ending. |

There are nice renegade options, like that quest in the first game for colonist background, I think it's called I Remember Me. Paragon or Renegade, the ending is quite heartwarming.

Actually, it does matter. You see immediate story differences while you play. The only thing is that it all leads to the grim endings. |
