Initially it was thought as a joke and a little girls show, something that was just silly. Eventually I buckled down and watched an episode, decided it was not all that bad, but not amazing and kept watching until I fell in love with the show at season 1: Episode 9: Bridle Gossip. I have been immersing myself in the show ever since.

I didn't have any thoughts about it until Pinkie Pie started singing Giggle at the Ghosties. Then I was all, "great. I'm gonna have to watch this whole series, now." And then I couldn't sleep for a week because Winter Wrap up wouldn't get out of my head. It was a fun 3 days.

At first I wanted to keep it secret that I watch it. Then my mom found out, and I've been watching it ever since out in the open. Since last year to be precise. And well I still think Rainbow Dash is awesome. I've added fav #2 Ditzy Doo, and fav #3 Applejack.

Saw it around the internet, was open to it, decided to check out Applebuck Season at the suggestion of some guy, watched it, loved it, joined community, loved it, abused several commas, and here I am.

But I never really cared about what people thought. I saw a TYP of ponies and thought the show looked cool. I watched it and liked it. I'm open about pretty much everything so never felt any impetus to hide it or anything.

Also these are some very pretty ponies. Very pretty.

Turning Cartoons in a Live Action movie tends to end in failure. I'd rather see a full length animated film than a Live action film with cheesy CGI set in New York City.

I was playing Mario Kart Wii with my friends, one of them said that there was this pony show called "Friendship is magic" and he said it looks really cool, most of my friends just laughed at what he said but the others (including me) just went silent, I wanted to check this show out because I had nothing else to watch, but I didn't want them to know, so I just sat there. After the game ended, I went home and decided check out this whole show on youtube. Found the first episode and watched it. After the first episode I loved this show. AND THAT'S ABOUT IT. (Man, this is a weird story)

Before I got into ponies I spent a lot of time on paheal.net there was suddenly a huge influx of pictures relating to My Little Pony at first I didn't think much of it until I was reading the comments on one picture where someone linked This video I watched the whole thing and thought it was pretty funny, I watched it again the next day, after that I found EQD and saw all the fanart people had made of the show I became obsessed.

Heard about the show and that it was good, watched it, liked it, joined ponychan (back when it was smaller), left when the place went to shit, joined Ponibooru, been here ever since. As for the rest of the fans, the people here are usually a lot easier to tolerate than the majority of ponychanners. I've barely ever been to EQD, but from what I've gathered the place seems like some sort of giant, childish, circlejerk.

My initial reaction was about a month before "The Hub" debuted. I'm sure many of you also saw the commercials on Discovery channel promoting it. One of the longer commercials scrolled the names of all the new shows. Right when I saw "My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic" go by, my first thought was: "someone resurrected that piece of shit?" I'm 29, so I remember the gen 1 show but not fondly.
I didn't think anymore about it until around January/February 2011. Every damn time I did a Google Image search, something pony related would pop up. A couple months later, Know Your Meme was covered in ponies! So in May, I finally decided to watch the first episode, just to figure out what everyone had become so obsessed with. Yeah, I didn't watch just one episode that night.

So from "oh fuck me, that stupid girl's show is back!" to, "dammit Saturday, hurry up and get here!" it's been a wild and strange year and a half. My iTunes is filled to the brim with Pony music, I started a DA account just to follow artists, I've been reading fan-fics like crazy (something I've never done in any other fandom I've been in) and I'm in the process of writing my very first fan-fic.

All because of adorable, pastel ponies and the best damn fan community ever. Who'da thunk it?

That UnanimousDelivers guy used it as a source for his madness, so I became intrigued and looked it up myself.

I still get the feeling one of these days I'll wake up in a mental institution and find out that G4 and this Brony subculture never really existed and was just a figment of my imagination and a side effect of one too many blunts in the local park.

I used to HATE the franchise with a passion. The G3 ponies were idiotic, tea-partying abominations forged out of turds from Satan's ass.
Before I found FiM I was part of the Touhou fandom. On one of the forums I was searching for Touhou crossovers and music until I spot a thread about MLP. They were all raving and submitting fanarts and screenshots that look descent and the ponies didn't look anything like the s@%$ I used to perceive them as. Naturally, whenever I enter into a new franchise, especially if it's something intended for little girls, I proceed with caution. I looked into the fan stuff before I got into the actual show. This is pretty much the video that sparked me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW8hrROuqcQ&list
Castlevania and Touhou went together like the perfect couple. Not to mention that amazing Rarity, Remelia Scarlet cosplay pic by JJ.
Eventually I started to watch the show.

Alright, so here's my story:

Started seeing porn of it on my usual hangouts, yeah yeah, thought it was a furry thing, blah blah, didn't get it at first, yadda yadda, forced myself to watch it, started hanging out on ponychan, got my own ponysona, etc, etc, and here I am today. Going to cons and fervently checking the booru for new images.

But the real reason I'm here is for the big mountain of gay. C'mere you guys!

I was casually strolling my way on 4chan when mlp started flooding it (mind you, i discovered it months after it debuted on tv, i am from another country). And i was like "why the hell is everyone so focused on this shit?" so i gave it a try. Then i watched more, and more. I actually spended a whole week catching up with the episodes until i reached the time limit of 1 week per episode.
I started reading fanfictions (something i never did in the past and became a sucker for Spike, that lil guy).

What is worse, because of ponies i stopped fapping from 5 times per day to just 2 times per week.

hated it at first because of it's status as a meme (memes are not fucking funny), not because it was my little pony (i'm a guy, but not very masculine. i think i might even hate men to be honest. not that women are REALLY any better, they're just cuter. can you tell i'm a virgin?). finally gave it a shot after spending a night or two skimming through the first neogaf thread (i'm not a member there, i just found it when i was trying to figure out what this pony shit was all about), wasn't impressed until i saw applebuck season, kept watching until i got caught up (owl's well was the most recent episode at the time), saw the last two episodes on their air dates and moved on for a bit. caught the season 2 premiere and didn't like it. missed part 2, downloaded it and enjoyed it more than part 1. kept watching and finally determined that i really did like the show 4 real after sisterhooves social aired (still my favorite to this day). season 2 > season 1, people who claim otherwise need to maybe not get so involved with the community and stop scrutinizing every little thing as being a "shout out" to the fans or whatever it is that they find so awful about the more recent episodes.

I loved the fanworks. The quality of what people produced in 2011's second half was mind blowing.

There was also a sort of culture or collective game to it, ideas and memes'd get passed around and evolve. People would expand on the best ones in the form of macros, art, or fiction, or music. Top stuff, and with alarming speed.

The "love and tolerance" stuff amazingly seemed to work: getting all the people with agendas, the trolls, the perverts and so on to get along.

Today I think we are in a different age - reached a stage when the fandom is bigger, the newomers get the old memes ready made, and we have a reliable supply of artists and sources to go to rather than trying to create our own.

I don't think I'd care about the show even today, if there wasn't the fandom. I also never really learned the "love and tolerance" stuff (though I tried and adored the ones who did) and so in the end I am just a hanger-on, not a real brony.

I was really biased when I first heard of bronies and Friendship is Magic.Because of the internet experiences I had with furries, and other creepy fanbases.
But...I couldn't stop watching after the first episode. Now I lost my soul to ponies.

I was sad and alone. I had nobody to hang out with or talk to. I was too far in to each day to actually go outside and do something with my life. My friends all left their bikes at my house and I couldn't ride any of them. It was easily the saddest moment of my life. Given that I only had a shitty laptop to use at the time I stumbled upon what would soon become an interest of mine... MLP.

TL;DR: There wasn't a sign in front of my house that said nigga bike storage and I was curious.

I saw it on knowyourmeme for Bad Pickup Line Spike, liked the art style, and watched the first episode. I ended up watching all of Season 1 in a row. Now I'm here, commenting on pictures and occasionally making a total ass out of myself.

I thought people who were so far into ponies were idiots, posting and downloading images all day. What a bunch of fags is what I thought. This went on for about 2 weeks until I became curious as to why people liked this show. That curiosity turned out to be my down fall. I decided to watch the new episode of the week back in Feb 2011, Suited for Success. Fuck...I like ponies.
