As a celebrity she probably has a very tight schedule. Maybe she just came from an excausting flight show , was rather tired and hoped that the would get it over with as quicky as possible so that she could finally go home. |

Considering that Cloudsdale selected Ponyville's Pegasi to bring in the water, it makes sense that Spitfire couldn't help beyond observing.
It would be like a high school football team winning the state championship but they had (insert famous footballer here) actually on the field. |

It's a matter of respect. This wasn't an emergency, they could get the water to Cloudsdale the next day. Ponyville's pegasi deserved a chance to do it. If they actually couldn't, then the next day they'd have some outside pegasi help out, guaranteed success, but a real mark of shame for Ponyville. |
