i lost all respect for that blog when they did the valentines drawing and noted the following:
Side Note: Just FYI, homo and incest ships are not my cup of tea, but that doesn’t mean I won’t draw them as friends or a tender brotherly and sisterly moment. Things wrong with that: 1. "Homo" 2. As if homosexuality and incest are on the same level? 3. As if drawing them being friends is significantly different than drawing them as boyfriends? Plus there's just this whole huge horrible implication behind the idea "I won't draw them IN LOVE, but I'll draw them as FRIENDS". It just...it's really, really terrible. I can't really explain it. |

1. Jeez, Fuzzy, you're like a homosexual crusader. Just because someone doesn't want to draw homosexual stuff he doesn't have to be a homophobe. 2. Homo is short for homosexual. Better than saying gay. 3. I'm sure he didn't want to say that incest is on the same level as homosexual stuff. He just said that those are the things he won't draw. |

Fuzzy, quit being an asshole. You're not a homophobe simply because you don't want to draw gay art. If he had said "because gay stuff is wrong and disgusting" (or something among those lines), that would have been homophobic.
You're just trying out a bullshit excuse to label someone as homophobic for not getting exactly what you want. |

Hey, Heroic-Heart here (I go by Sunlight-Heart on Tumblr now).
Oh whoa, I never noticed that my artwork even made it here. I am more than thankful for the gracious comments that I've seen here. Really, thank you all. @Fuzzy_Logic I feel like I should explain myself better. Look, I had no idea that "homo" was a derogatory term and that wasn't what I was using it for. As Zancrow said, I was using as an abbreviation for "homosexual," which I see isn't the case. I apologise if I gave off the impression that I was using it as a slur, my bad. As for the "I won't draw them IN LOVE, but I'll draw them as FRIENDS" thing. Look, you are more than welcomed to draw your own interpretations of my artwork. If I draw two guys hugging, I won't get upset if others draw the conclusion that they're gay. People who are homosexual don't gross me out nor do I think they're disgusting individuals. All I'm saying is that I'm not a big fan of drawing homosexual pairings. That's it. I guess I should of worded it a bit more on the lines of this: "I will not draw explicit homosexual, heterosexual, or incestual pictures but everything else is cool." |
