Nothing about this is horrible.
The only way a wood carving like this would be horribly scary, is if the thing was carves so that a knot would be through where the eyes usually are. I've seen those. They look hell creepy. One artist I remember had made the trouble of selecting wood that allows him to make such knot-wood eye carvings. Doesn't do them any more, his Escondido ranch burned in the California wildfires. He's waiting for God in an Arizona bungalow now. |

@mathprof: If the croup is higher it shouldn't be by much. I didn't design it higher. But I did shorten the back and the loin to practically nothing. So the croup is right next to the neck, it probably gives that effect.
@Wheezie: :P Now I feel like I'll HAVE to try that. :( Sad story about that woodworkers house going in the fires though. That's a shame. |
