I remember those in Mario Kart Advance.
They almost never showed up, and they didn't have wings. That all changed in Double Dash, when they started exploding. |

I heard that it was changed back to its original iteration in MK7. I wouldn't know, having only played MKDS and MKWii beforehand. That said, I think Nintendo actually made the blue shell WORSE this way. It was bad enough getting hit with one when you're in the lead in Grand Prix mode, getting hit by it WHILE IT'S ON ITS WAY TO THE LEAD CHARACTER is extremely frustrating!
tl;dr Any Scootabuse from now on is completely justified. |
