It's not about whether or not a person is offended. It's how they deal with it.
If somebody sincerely calls you an asshole, you will be offended. That can't be helped, it's emotions. You feel what you feel. Emotions can't be prevented, just like sensations. I can personally recall a moment when every political leader in the past 10 years in America has been called Hitler-esque by one side, and Jesus-like by the other. @955: Gandhi was anti-semetic early in his 'career', but he completely owned it in the years before his assassination. By that point he was pretty obsessed with peace for the entire freakin' world (instead of just India). You can argue the wisdom of passive aggression, but few of his critics argue that he was a paragon of humanity. |
