Before Discord and Hearth's Warming Eve, it was widely believed that Celestia and Luna were the origin of all ponies in some way, even maybe creating them themselves. Fausticorn was developed during that time, and thus it was concluded that she was the mother of Celestia and Luna, and thus of all ponies in Equestria. The former is a null idea now and is usually rejected, but Faust being their mother stuck. And yes, I do frequently devote this level of thought and assessment towards a fandom's collective consciousness. |

Damnit man! I had this whole theory where evolution was taking its normal pace intill a mystical asteroid collided with the young planet creating conditions for the magical races that populate Pondaira (like Pandora except pony punified). |
