The Thing is an amazing horror movie, to me, because decades later with effects that are considered scraps by today's standards are still just as terrifying as they were all those years ago.
Frikken head spider gave me nightmares for weeks man. |

moku5, bah modern horror is weak. Its all either CGI ,pointless guff, or remakes of better films. Nothing beats the classics. Even the gore is stupid now adays. Stuff like this was scary because it was organic. Every prop you saw was real. Now...bah. |

More like died...and is rotting. I have a DVD compilation of the best B&W horror films (has about 50 flicks) and I enjoy them a million times better then anything thats come out recently. 70's and 80's had great flicks to, just like this one. It all started going down hill in the mid 90's with the advent of affordable CGI.
