Eh, grimdark just doesn't work with ponies for me. I start reading it then I remember that this taking place in a world with color little horses that use weaponized friendship and I start laughing.
I just can't muster the suspension of disbelief required for grimdark pony. |

Yeah, don't get me wrong. Emotional pony stories are just fine, I enjoy giving the tear ducts a work out every now and again.
But as soon as someone starts talking about one of the mane six, generally Pinkie or Twilight, killing the others or Celestia being some sort of tyrant I gotta call it a day. |

Eh. I'm not a fan of grimdark most of the time. Mainly because it keeps going near the level of gore/guro and that exploitativeness. R34 can be too but it's not to that guro level. |
