Zincy, I think that "Friendzoning" is what Rarity would be like once she settled into a relationship with someone. Rarity seems like the kind of girl who would be constantly babbling about how much she loves them and how "Cutesy Wutesy" they are.

She also didn't know Blueblood at all and had based all her assumptions about how their interactions would go off what I would guess to be romance novels. It's not surprising that she would treat Spike, who she actually knows, fundamentally different then Blueblood.
As to the whole friendzone thing I'd maintain that Rarity isn't nearly a big enough bitch to do it like that. There's not returning a guy's feelings and then there is flat out emasculating him for your own amusement. The whole thing is up for interpretation of course. |

The whole problem with claiming he was 'friendzoned' was the second kiss. That happened AFTER he confessed to her. If she was friendzoning him she never would have kissed him again, that would have been the mother of all mixed signals. |

The show is very honest about the characters feelings. I mean, they have to be because the writing and story was meant to be understood by young children.
Its why there's friendship reports at the end of each episode. Its to make sure the kids get the episode's lesson in case they couldn't read between the lines. If Rarity really did just like Spike as a friend/brother/pet or whatever, the writers would make Rarity say it to Spike the same way that Spike "specifically" said that he has a crush on Rarity. They won't beat the bush around with it. I don't think its canon yet but I think its not a one sided crush anymore... |
