All the reasons listed above are ridiculous and I can't comprehend why anyone would think one of them. (Except the asians/studying one, but only if you're a horrible racist)
Twilight's coat is purple, so she's black? What? Fluttershy's coat is yellow, why don't people draw her as Chinese? Rarity's coat is white, why isn't she albino? As for voice actors, it's not that the ('merican" voice actor is white that make people think she's white, it's her performance. Tara Strong is delivering the performance of a pale skinned bookwork shut-in, so that's why people think that a humanized version of Twilight would be white. Phil LaMarr is a black voice actor who voiced Samurai Jack. Bottom line: the reasons people draw Twilight with brown skin isn't racially motivated. When coloring characters, sometimes people try out different colors. Different shirt colors, different hair colors, and different skin colors to see what they like best. They do it simply because they think it looks nice. |
