I personally enjoy all the stories that don't go too over the top, because the ones that do tend to be kind of bland and generic. A mutilation here, a stomping there, maybe sprinkled with a bit of rape. If it's decent quality, I'll read it and enjoy it for that. Unfortunately, most of the writers are idiots who just want a laugh at some oversensetive dumbshit who freaks out over their shock stories that all have the same beginning, middle, and end.
The cute stuff tends to be the most well written (as long as it wasn't written for the sole purpose of spiting the grimdark/grimderp writers) due to the fact that people actually read the entirety of the cute stories, so it's necessary that you put forth some effort into writing them. Not to mention that it's easier to think of a cute scenario than it is to think of a original dark scenario (because dark has been done so often, all the good and almost good ideas are taken). |
