I wouldn't say the quality is declining, just that it's not quite as fresh. Even going back to the season one episodes, they don't have quite the same oomph. Not bad, but not quite the same. Maybe it's just me. |

I think everyone is just forgetting all the moments from the first season where they did similar, and focusing on the outliers.
As for this season having less "oomph"? What about Sweet and Elite, Lesson Zero, Luna Eclipsed, Secret of my excess, hearths warming eve, the last roundup, and putting your hoof down? Those all add absolute tons of characterization to everyone on top of adding a good deal of backstory. Heck, season 2 has done about 5x as much in terms of continuity. Zecora has made reappearances with direct references to past episodes, In the recent episode they make direct references to several previous episodes "Dragonshy and putting your hoof down" and so on. As to standing on their back hooves or doing humanized poses? they have been doing that for ages. Heck, remember RD in Return of Harmony? |

Pic1: She kinda looks a little bit off too, isolated like that. But that's from a busy scene with several other ponies dancing, and the scene isn't focused on her, so it isn't very noticeable. Pic2: It looks okay here, mostly because Dash keeps trotting in place and throwing punches keeping things lively and funny, unlike the rather stiff and motionless pose the ponies strike in Dragon Quest. Also because it's RD and fits her personality well. Pic3: It's Pinkie Pie. That alone gives her green light to do pretty much anything. Also, not a fighting pose. |

I'm pretty sure "fits her personality" and it's "not a fighting pose" does not negate the fact that they are still doing the exact thing that Taigan called "unforgivable" (making human poses), or that those are from episodes where Faust was the one with creative control.
