Why do I really like the idea of Lyra being a conspiracy theorist/Cassandra whose theories are actually true? And Bon-Bon thinks she's crazy but keeps her around because she (BB) is lost without somepony to argue with (angry sex). |

@817 Yeah the "world' they currently only know as Equestria. There are probably foreign lands, planets, and realms that most ponies don't know outside of the Princesses influence. |

See, what Celestia's doing, is a con trick. Her subjects think she's raising the Sun, but the sun doesn't move! What she does is rotate the Earth a few degrees around its axis and push it forward in its orbit. |

What if the Sun and Moon are shared between nations, maybe even other planets under a pact to maintain the balance of existence. Celestia and Luna are merely only two of the figures in the pact that contains numerous different God figures like a League. During the prologue, 1000 years ago, when Luna/Nightmare Moon stubbornly held the Moon in place, they were not only causing suffering within Equestria, but jeopardizing the balance of other lands as well, which was a violation of the Pact. If Celestia hadn't resolved the crisis, the other nations would've declared war on Equestria. |

I'd say Nightmare/Luna, Celestia, and Discord weren't "controlling" day and night outside of their norm, they have strong illusion spells. This seems more likely to me than 2 horses and a chimera controlling time and those massive objects. I mean, who controlled them before, what about before intelligent life evolved? |

Presumably the system functioned normally until the Princess showed up, and then merely brought it under their control in some manner. Sort of like asking "who controlled the flow of rivers before we built dams?" This would of course imply that Lyra here is technically correct, the Princesses aren't actually required in anyway and are in fact meddling in the normal order. Mind controlling the length of days could be highly beneficial for various things hence they'd still wield considerably influence. |
