He's like 13 now! He was hanging out with "Teenaged Dragons" before! Not so much the "kid" people always seem to say he is.
He may be a "baby dragon", but that's just because Dragons live a whole heck of a lot longer than other creatures. In pony years, he's not that much younger than them. |

Lauren Faust said the characters have no defined ages. I doubt he's a kid too because he's never acted or been treated as such on the show. @1161274 Maybe the reason so many people think he isn't a kid is because, at face value, he doesn't act like it on the show. He is cute and gentle-willed compared to other dragons but not a child. |

She did say they didn't have any defined ages, but she also said she imagined the mane six to be somewhere around the 18-22 range, Twilight being the youngest and Rarity the oldest. And if Twi is 18 or so, and she was something like 5 or 6 when Spike was hatched, that would make him something like 12 or 13 now. And yeah, agreed, he doesn't act like a kid like the CMC and no one really treats him like that on the show, so us treating him as such doesn't make much sense. |
