Allow me to try to explain why some folks like these. You know the book A Child Called "It" by Dave Pelzer? That book is an autobiographical account of a severely abused child. It made the top of the NY Times best seller list. I feel the reason people liked that book, and by extension this, is because when innocent things are beaten up, abused, or whatever it kind of kicks our parental instincts into overdrive. We want to hug these pitiful, stupid, defenseless creatures. In a strange way, the harm done to them makes them seem cuter to some of us. They're like Tiny Tim times a million. |

Also, the fluffy pone stories remind me a bit of an aristocrats joke but rather than trying to lengthen the story with the most vile disgusting imagery you can think of at the time it's about fitting as much sadism and tragedy into as short a story as possible. |
