This probably isn't the place to discuss these topics but I'm aware of the "trespassing" bill that is - in my opinion - a response to Occupy Wall Street and its intended purpose - again, in my opinion - is to eliminate all protests.

OK full disclosure, I'm not an American so I can advocate this stuff without taking any risk myself.
Yes, the republicans would be worse. Except for possibly, maybe that Ron Paul guy, but he's not going to be the republican candidate (neither is Santorum, I think). But you have to think more than one election ahead. You have to think several elections ahead: go for the Greens, or the Socialist Workers, help them out, do the door-to-door support-building. Go to the protests, campaign to change the laws, write to your existing representatives, get arrested under these obscene laws - get attention to your cause. It will be a slow, frustrating process; full of small victories and large defeats. But it is also the only way forwards. |
