At the end of the day, if the entire design team have far more confidence in one guy to lead than you, surely you must stand aside. Just because you have the initial spark of the idea doesn't make you infinitely more qualified than everyone else to lead and conceptualize something.

^ I agree. If EVERYONE walks away from you, THEY are not the problem.

Why is it that every fucking brony project (including cons) falls apart due to team failure? Can these miserable dipshits not see anything beyond their own pathetic, self-absorbed egos?

@5741: that's not just common to brony projects, it's common to fan projects in general. Because they're almost all volunteer projects, and volunteers can and do leave if things don't go the way they want.

Large fan projects don't usually succeed, because too many people have too many different ideas. Small projects can succeed, if focus on the main idea is ruthlessly kept.

Ironically, this sounds exactly like what happens to every guild in every MMO I have ever played.

In fact, at one point, I was the leader that was usurped, except my replacement kicked everyone out and then sat on the guild name out of spite so i could not reform.

Everyone saying he's the problem may have miss the part about him kicking in his own money. maybe the other had some money in it to but id say the fact that he was the "owner" in the first place say he may have put in the most money. but I guess it was also stupid to let some you put money on to just die like that. also that sucks it was looking good last I checked

The other side of the story is that the leader guy wanted all the credit to be his own. All of it. Even the stuff that everyone else contributed. They all agreed to have everyone credited for all their ideas, while he was away, but he didn't want that, apparently.

That's just what I've heard.

It's explained here, if you want to read up on the other side of the story.
