@Dracon Hey, I'm just defendin' my race. If you wanna make this personal, I'll tell you now that I ain't all about dirt and crops. I'm a living testament that ponies wouldn't nearly be as advanced without us Earth Ponies to labor and build ponies' homes and furniture and machines. You want to know how you get your fast food and snacks? You get them through us! We built the machines and factories to mass produce those items. And yes, somewhere along the line there would be something that came from the ground. It took lots of hard labor to build the society you live in. But of course what would a pegasus know about labor? You all just lay about all day, being tumors sucking off what we selflessly provide for you.

@Cog And who protected you farmers, when you were tending to your itty bitty plants? That's right, the mighty tribe of Pegasi warriors. Sure, you guys may be tough, but griffons, or dragons won't stay on the ground long enough for you to waddle over with your saddlebags filled with carrots and apples. Without the Pegasi, you wouldn't even have the fertile ground to grow. You wouldn't have the weather to plant your precious flowers. You wouldn't even have the balls to go outside if we didn't change the seasons. And not all of us have to fiddle around with the weather. Hell, Fluttershy for example pays attention to the animals, you know, the things you should ALSO be tending to, more than any Earth pony could. I would also like to point out that this is just mindless banter, and that I take nothing personally.

@Dracon So? Sure, the pegasi did ponykind a great favor by keeping a bird's-eye-view of thing. But this is the here and now. Now if all of us Earth Ponies were to suddenly vanish, you wouldn't have the strength and determination to continue society. If a dragon or the Griffons were to attack us, sure, maybe you'd be able to survive for a while. But soon their civilizations will advance, leaving ponykind in the dust, and reduce us all to dust with superior weaponry! And sure, you might be able to come up with ideas for competing weaponry through the unicorns, but you wouldn't have the means to actually make those plans come to life! Face it, we aren't just the cogs in a machine, we keep things running too. Earth Ponies run your world now, filly. Pegasi live in the past, always preening in the achievements they did, but never acting until the absolute dire moment. Unicorns think too far ahead in the future, always saying and making plans of what they will do. But us Earth Ponies? We're in the here and now, acting as soon as we think, sometimes without a thought. (And yes, I'm also just doing this as mindless banter, nothing really personal :P )

We can learn from the mistakes we made, because we can focus on our flaws. How do you think we fly as gracefully and as swiftly as we do? It's called practice. Our experiences that we take from the past can prepare us greatly for the future, and even the impending doom. Our ancestors, our forefathers, and our families have taken from the past, our future. Our culture. Our pride. Yeah, we may be arrogant airheads. But at least we know how to cope with it. You face it, sir: how incredible is it, that with multitudes of training, hard work and learning, we can take to the skies, and help ponies in need? If a pony falls, they turn to the pegasi. If a dragon attacks, they turn to the Pegasi. If a hurricane is brewing, they turn to the Pegasi. It's because we care. You may be the backbone, and the unicorns may be the brains, but we're the personality. We're the spirit and the determination that makes up the entire social structure of Equestria. We could sit around and rest on the clouds. But we don't, because ponies rely on us, and the teachings and the skills that we're learnt, to survey the skies, and be able to protect the Earth ponies and unicorns.

@Dracon Flight? I can build me some mechanical wings. Learning from the past? Because of course Earth Ponies don't keep our own records and journals, and it's not like I got where I am through learning! And even if we did that, it's not like we'd do it healthily so we just learn from the past instead of stroking our massive, pegasus-sized egos. Bad weather imminent? Artificial wings, and making our infrastructure more stable. We aren't just the backbone, but the ribs to protect our hearts, the hooves to build and move forward, and with technology the wings to make us soar. It's a testament to your egos that you'd call yourselves the "personality" and the "spirit", when really all you are are the eyes, sitting up on the head all high and mighty. But soon, we could be replacing that too. Determination? That was us, filly, not you. We had the determination to make do with what we had instead of taking for the skies or forcing our brains through our foreheads. It's made us stronger, more able and willing, and through our own devices better in every way. Earth Ponies have been held back by the unicorns and oppressed by the pegasi for too long. Very soon, the age of the Earth Pony will be at hoof, and you wouldn't even notice it coming, finding yourselves too content with your extended "break times" when in reality we'll replace you and do the things you and unicorns could only dream of, if even that.
