Celestia called Philomena "young lady" ergo the one on the right is female. And the one with the male-peacock like head feathers thus is male.
Very normal for birds actually. |

Yeah, generally, when it comes to birds it's the male that has to attract a mate. Thus male birds tend to have colorful plumage while females are usually rather plain. |

Mabye the one on the right is male. Philomena had the peacock-like crest. Technically, female peacocks (pea hens) have the same type of crest. Peacocks have the huge tails. |
