I don't remember the book very well but I got serious huckleberry finn vibes from this bit. |

I see Cranky is umm... having funny... with his retirement? |
| Forgottensin #1150764 4 months ago |
I guess things with Matilda didn't go too well... |
| Anonymous #1150770 4 months ago |
And ... where is Matilda ? |
| NonAnon #1150777 4 months ago |
Funny thing:
Huckleberry Finn was said to have severe homo-erotic leanings in it. Cranky Doodle Donkey is a play on Yankey Doodle Dandy, a british slur against Americans, likening them to effeminate homosexuals. In other words: Spike's poor bunghole. |

Matilda said to Cranky, that Pinkie Pie asked her to make Cupcakes with her.
But Matilda never returned ... |

Didn't the other guy in Huckleberry Finn was a ... black person ? (I don't want to sound rassistic) |
| NonAnon #1150815 4 months ago |
@NJ
Unlike Joker, my audience isn't the Batman. I have understandably less faith they have the mental capacity to understand the connections. |

>All donkey's with toupees are Cranky
Nope |

Cranky used to hold a lot of jobs during his wanderings. He's just too modest (and unfriendly) to mention them.
Ferryman was one of them. Maybe Spike recruited his help, but I like to think he met Equestria's Charon who tricked him into taking over his job in Tartarus and now he is magically bound to traverse travellers on the river time to time. |

Donkeys are non-ponies, therefore "not-white." Maybe not black, that's zebras, but still. |

if you ask me, not all the epidoses are in chronological order, this one happened befor a friend in deed, cranky was still traveling, and since the protagonist of that episode and pinkie was n ot on this one they could still not known each other untill late. |

@Nonanon: Oh, get off your high horse and stop pretending you're better than everyone. You're trying too hard to read into things. |
| Sekel #1151097 4 months ago |
@dragonSpike: Ponies = White people.
Explain Sapphire Shores. Stop equating species to races you fool. |
| BackgroundPony17 #1151282 4 months ago |
^Sekel - Actually, equating species to race/ethnicity seems to be canon in this show:
-- Compare Canterlot with Cloudsdale with Ponyville. Three entirely different architectural styles, implying three different cultures, built by three different species of pony. -- Zecora is a strange, vaguely African "foreigner". -- The bison are "native Equestrians". It's not a stretch to assume that donkeys, cows, etc. are Equestria's version of racial minorities. Which, btw, makes the joke one of the trash-hauling ponies in "Putting Your Hoof Down" were telling ("...a donkey and a mule are on a desert island..") the pony equivalent of an "ethnic joke". |

Wait, look at his Tupee. This is before "A Friend in Deed". |
| TheLoneLampman #1151991 4 months ago |
^ He could have had another one made. Besides, what happened to his big-ass cart full of his belongings? I'd focus more on that first. |
| TheLoneLampman #1151999 4 months ago |
+ Not to mention that they are traveling AWAY from Ponyville, not towards it. |
| NonAnon #1153687 4 months ago |
@Sekel
Thank you for proving my point. If you think I was even trying to read into things... it was supposed to be an absurdity. And who's high-horsing here? You're the one pushing a way of thought. |
| GreyAcumane #1155078 4 months ago |
You know guys. He could have gotten a new black toupee. |
