i say it's legit. We get:
- Spike called a pony; - Matilda calling donkeys, zebras and cows with everypony pronoun; - and these guards from luna eclipsed. Any of these can pass for a "new pony species", especially the second one, because it's the show's perspective that gives definite proof, and not our consensus, or lack thereof. |

We've gotten minotaurs, donkeys, we're going to see at least one more griffon. It's pretty clear that Equestria has more ethnic variety than just ponies, so while we haven't gotten a fourth type of pony, I think it's fair to just mark it off. |
