honestly, relying on the creator is abit...uncreative. using it as a starting point is fine, though for a 'first draft' look. then, from there, you make changes in the design...whether through editing it yourself, or thinking it up in your head and asking for nice people to help you out, until you've got a more finished 'edit' of your rough draft..
then, best bet from there is get something more 'from scratch' drawn of that finished product, either by you drawing it yourself, a friend who can draw, or a commission. or some other method. if the final product of your OC's creation process requires you draw it from scratch, because pony creators cant match it...you've got an OC that'll tend to avoid the 'anti-creator' hate. *begin 'back in my day' mini-rant* back in the days i made my OC, we didnt have a good creator like the one spawning so many 'generic' OCs today. we had to use your brains to come up with them! sure, there were a creator here and there, but they were too limited to create viable 'finished' OCs! kids these days, i swear..*end 'back in my day' mini-rant* |

Look, I'm going to be kinda blunt, but I'm going to say a lot.
This is ponibooru. It's pretty much meant to have anything pony-related. That includes pony creator stuff. If people are mean to you for it, then so what? That's life. Hell, that's the internet. I've been torn down on this site before and sure, I cried for a bit, but in the end....who gives a crap? I stopped caring. If people didn't like what I posted, then tough. It's pony related and it belongs here. These are people you are probably never going to see in real life. So what does it matter if someone's an asshole to you through a computer screen? That being said.... Don't try to throw yourself a pity party. It's not cute. It's annoying. When people said mean things to me on this site I didn't go make a whole image to post it and beg for some white knights to come to my rescue. I defended myself and then dropped it when I realized it wasn't important. You should do the same. That's something middle school girls do and it's annoying as hell (Not hating on women or anything, I'm a girl myself). Now on the art subject, learning to draw takes practice and time. And you aren't going to learn jack shit if you just use pony creators to do your work. So pick up a pencil every now and then and practice. If you can write your name, you can learn how to draw. As an artist, I have a low tolerance for people who use the excuse of "I can't draw" it's not a difficult skill to learn if you apply yourself. And lastly, adding your birthday at the bottom there....that was really pathetic. Like....I have friends I've known for years who don't know my birthday. Don't expect people on this site who don't even know you to shower you in love and affection just because your birthday is coming up. To be super blunt, 90% of the people here don't give a shit. TL;DR To sum up: -To hell with whatever anyone else thinks. -Pick up a pencil and practice drawing. Seriously. -Don't be such a whiner, it's not cute, it's annoying. |

eh, so what? Some people find it hard to express themselves and the 'pity party' thing is pretty much a cry for help really. I don't really see it as anything all that bad as long as these instances doesn't keep being posted about. Don't worry TC. Just try new things out, just draw and upload as you see fit. We've seen some art in here that resembles kids' drawings. It's fine. |
