It's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I can't think of a pony who could take Mike Teavee role.

Well if books in Equestria are equivalent to television in terms of entertainment, then Twilight would be Mike Teevee. They also both have an obsession with how things work and absolute fact.

Wouldn't this map out better as Blueblood, Gilda, Trixie, and Discord?

Or fillies and colts. Fat pony, Scootaloo, Diamond Tiara and hell-if-I-know.

While non really fit, Twilight could come the closest, replacing tvs with books.

I guess it's a safe bet to say Fluttershy=Charlie.

Yeah, I'd say Twilight as well sadly. She thinks she knows everything and tries to rationalize the mysticism of everything(despite being inherently magical herself), just as Mike questions/rationalizes Willy Wonka's use of technology.

A know-it all who won't accept anything they can't explain by logic and reason, with no place for whimsy. How is that not Mike TeeVee?

Fuck you, at least that one followed the book.

@1212155: It surely did follow the book better, but it's definetly one of the lesser Burton/Depp films. Like Alice in Wonderland, it's visually delicious but lacks a definite something...
